Legion Games Unified Standard State Championships

When: October 18th, 2014.  The first round seats at 9am.
Where: Legion Games (3128 West Hwy 13, Burnsville MN 55337)
Cost: Free (if you qualify)
How to qualify: Make top 8 of either State Championship and you will be invited to this special invite-only Unified State Championship event.  If there are any cross-over top-8 competitors, we will have invitations pass down.  If there are an odd number of crossover players we will randomly determine the event we will have the invitation pass down in.
Prizes:

  • 1st place: Champion Playmat.  Free entry to all three Legion Grand Prix events held in 2015, with free VIP upgrade!  (These events are GP Omaha, GP Oklahoma City, and GP Madison.)
  • 2nd place: Top 8 Playmat.  Free entry to one Legion Grand Prix event held in 2015, with free VIP upgrade!
  • 3rd/4th place: Top 8 Playmat.  Free VIP upgrade at one Legion Grand Prix event held in 2015.
  • 5th-8th place: Top 8 Playmat.  Free entry to one StarCityGames or TCGPlayer event held by Legion Games in 2014 or 2015.  (We can’t announce all the awesome events coming up yet, but we several lined up you will be excited about.)
  • 9th-16th place: Competitor Playmat.

How will this event run?
It will be four rounds of swiss, with a cut to top 8.  The first round of swiss will not be paired randomly – the 1st place player from the TCGPlayer states will be playing the 8th place player from SCG States, 2nd vs 7th, etc.
You do not have to use the same Standard deck you used in the State Championship tournament you top 8ed.  You can use any deck you want, but you must turn in the decklist before round 1 is seated.  We will provide a reminder of the cutoff before we seat round 1.  If you want to use the same deck from your State Championships, you can just let us know that, and will not need to provide a decklist – we will use the one you provided for the State Championships you qualified from.
This event will be streamed on http://www.twitch.tv/legiongamesmn

New Map

We will be running Modern States for TCGPlayer.com tomorrow (Saturday 8/2).  They are doing a bunch of construction on Hwy 13, and have closed the exit from Southbound 35W to Hwy 13 Southbound.  The detour is pretty well covered by signs, but I am including a map so you have an idea of what the detour involves.  If the map is too small, or I just suck at art, here are the directions:

Take the exit to Hwy 13 Northbound, stay in the exit lane and get on 35W Northbound, stay in the exit lane and get on Hwy 13 Southbound.  Basically you go through 3 of the four leaves of the cloverleaf.
